1. South Africa

With 575 serviceable airports, South Africa tops the list in Africa. The country holds the 13th position globally, reflecting its extensive air transport network. The airports in South Africa serve as key hubs for both domestic and international flights, boosting tourism and trade.

2. Kenya

Kenya follows with 370 serviceable airports, ranking 18th globally. The aviation sector in Kenya supports regional connectivity and enhances its role as a gateway to East Africa.

3. Democratic Republic of Congo

The Democratic Republic of Congo has 272 serviceable airports, placing it 24th in the global ranking. The country’s vast size makes air travel essential for connecting its different regions.

4. Namibia

Namibia takes the fourth spot with 255 serviceable airports. Ranked 25th globally, its airports play a key role in supporting its economy and tourism sector.

5. Tanzania

Tanzania ranks fifth in Africa, with 206 serviceable airports. Globally, the country is in the 28th position, underlining its growing aviation network and importance in East Africa.

6. Zimbabwe

Zimbabwe comes sixth with 144 serviceable airports, holding the 36th position globally. Its airports contribute to economic activities and enhance mobility across the country.

7. Botswana

With 122 serviceable airports, Botswana ranks 41st globally. The country’s aviation infrastructure supports domestic and international travel, facilitating trade and connectivity.

Zambia is ranked eighth in Africa, with 119 serviceable airports. Globally, it holds the 42nd position, reflecting its growing aviation footprint.

9. Angola

Angola has 106 serviceable airports, placing it ninth in Africa and 49th globally. Its aviation infrastructure supports economic activities, including the oil and gas industry.

10. Liberia

Liberia rounds out the list with 99 serviceable airports, ranked 52nd globally. These airports are essential for connecting the country to other parts of the region and the world.
