Osun confirms receipt of N6.314bn second tranche of Paris Club refund

Osun state government on Tuesday confirmed receipt of the second tranche of the Paris Club refund.
It will be recalled that State government has been under serious attacks from some labour unions within Nigeria Labour Congress, NLC, Osun state chapter, over alleged plan to divert the funds.

But, a statement issued by Director, Bureau of Communication and Strategy, Office of the Governor, Semiu Okanlawon, said that the refund, totalling N6.314billion, was paid into the state coffers on Monday.

The statement further reads: “In line with our government’s promise to utilize the resources of this state in the best interest of our people, we hereby restate our commitment to this promise as we begin shortly transparent deployment on our commitments to the concerned stakeholders.”
Recently, pensioners and medical doctors in the employment of Osun state government in separate protests march in Osogbo, Osun state capital, alleged that the second tranche of the the Paris Club refund had been diverted.
