Ondo state government has announced a twenty-four hour curfew on Ago-Alaye Community in Odigbo local government area of the state.

There was a communal clash on Tuesday between the people of Ikale and Araromi Obu over land dispute where scores of persons were brutally injured and many houses destroyed in the community.

Donald Ojogo, the state commissioner for Information in a statement said the curfew became necessary in the interest of residents in the adjoining communities.

It is taken in the overall interest of the inhabitants of the area as well as adjoining towns and villages. The need to prevent the unfortunate incident from escalating also reinforces this action.

” All inhabitants in the affected area are enjoined to take maximum advantage of this step being taken by obeying the order. Security agencies are by this action, mandated to enforce the curfew to the fullest,” Ojogo said.
