Gov Bello picks APC forms for second term ticket

Gov Bello picks APC forms for second term ticket

Yahaya Bello Nomination Form

Governor Yahaya Bello of Kogi State Wednesday picked expression of interest and nomination forms to contest for the governorship ticket of the ruling All Progressives Congress, APC ahead of the November 16 governorship polls.

Bello who was first to pick the nomination forms at the APC National Secretariat, Abuja called on the other over forty co-aspirants for the same ticket to step down for him so as to enable the party record overwhelming victory at governorship election.

“Everybody that is aspiring for the gubernatorial ticket under the platform of APC should come and join me and let’s deliver overwhelmingly in November 2019 election”, he stated.

Addressing journalists shortly after been presented with the forms by Niyi Adeabayo, APC Deputy Chairman (South), Bello said, Kogi state Chapter of the APC under his leadership is very united and much on ground to win landslide at the guber polls as it did in last general elections.

He said, “I inherited a State House of Assembly that was largely divided and APC was minority. Based on the leadership style of mine self, we were able to convince them and have majority in the House, produced the Speaker and Majority Leader in last 6th Assembly.

“Upon assumption of office we were able to rebuild the party and in the last general elections, we were able to deliver two out of the three Senatorial seats, were able to deliver seven out of the nine House of Representatives Members and the State House of Assembly elections, it was 100%”.

The governor disclosed that contrary to insinuations that he has under performed, his achievements in all aspects of the state were uncountable, adding that President Muhammadu Buhari would soon be in the state to commission the several infrastructure projects scattered across the three Senatorial districts.

“When you talk of any body accusing me of not delivering on our mandate or dividends of democracy to the people of Kogi state are probably those that are living outside Kogi state. If they are actually living in Kogi state, if they can’t see it, they will feel it, because if I start to list all that I have achieved in Kogi state, I don’t think 24 hours will be enough for me. But I can say it, Kogi state used to be haven for criminality, kidnapping, armed robbery, thuggery and the rest – these things are becoming things of the past. That is number one.

“Number two, if you talk of infrastructure, it litters everywhere across the three Senatorial Districts and in weeks ahead, Mr. President will be in Kogi state to commission projects and commission projects and commission the projects. Again, one other very important achievement is the unity that you see today. The issue of marginalization has become a thing of the past because we are running an all inclusive government. Any person that is parading that we did nothing, that person is a diaspora person”, he boasted.
