Godwin Obaseki sworn in as Edo state governor


The inauguration of Godwin Obaseki as the new governor of Edo state is in progress as incumbent steps aside.

The tenure of the state governor, Adams Oshomhole terminates on Saturday.

Obaseki was elected governor on the platform of the All Progressives Congress (APC). His deputy is Phillip Shuaibu.

Many APC governors are witnessing the inauguration. Senate President Bukola Saraki is also in attendance.

Oshiomhole reviewed the parade mounted by the state police command.

The new governor will run for four years.
