Ashiru emerges Ijebu-Remo consensus candidate for Ogun 2019 governorship

Ahead of 2019 Governorship election in Ogun state, a socio-political group which exists in nine local government councils in Ogun East Senatorial Districts known as Ijebu-Remo Governorship Agenda Forum has endorsed Bimbo Ashiru as a consensus governorship candidate for the state.

Ashiru, the current Commissioner for Commerce and Industry in the State was chosen by Gbolade Oshinowo-led Ijebu-Remo Governorship Agenda Forum, having defeated eight other aspirants who contested with him.

Senator Olorunnibe Mamora, Senator Adegbenga Kaka and Segun Adesegun, a former Deputy Governor to Governor Amosun between 2011 and 2015.

He also defeated his counterpart in the current cabinet of Governor Amosun, Muyiwa Oladipo, the Commissioner for Culture and Tourism as well as Jimi Lawal, a banker; Owodunni Opeyemi and One Doctor Kazeem
