DStv, GOtv prices remain unchanged — MultiChoice

Wanted: Ministry of Multichoice and government palliatives for Nigeria

Multichoice, the parent company of DStv and GOtv, has refuted the claim that their subscription packages in Nigeria has been reduced.

According to a source in the company, only decoder prices were reduced but subscription prices remained unchanged.

“We only reduced our decoder prices and not subscription prices,” the source said.

“The DStv Zapper was slashed from N65,000 to N22,900 while the Zapper and the dishkit were slashed from N100,000 to N57,900. For GOtv, the Pizza Box was slashed from N56,000 to N19,900 and all of these took effect from the 1st of June 2024.”

MultiChoice Nigeria is currently in the middle of a legal case as it is challenging a ruling by the Competition and Consumer Protection Tribunal (CCPT) that mandated it to offer one-month free subscription services and imposed a N150 million fine.
