Saudi Pro League side Al Nassr have reportedly started negotiations with Bayer Leverkusen to sign Nigerian striker Victor Boniface as a replacement for Anderson Talisca, who is set to join Fenerbahce.
Al Nassr are looking to sign Boniface to bolster their attack, which already features Cristiano Ronaldo and Sadio Mane.
Football transfer expert Fabrizio Romano confirmed on Monday via his X account that Al Nassr have initiated official discussions to secure the 24-year-old Super Eagles striker’s signature, aiming to fend off interest from Premier League clubs, including Arsenal, Chelsea, and Manchester United.
“Understand Al Nassr have started official talks for Victor Boniface as a new striker! Negotiations on with Bayer Leverkusen for the Nigerian striker to replace Talisca. The other candidate is Jhon Durán… but Aston Villa still insist on keeping him at the club,” Romano wrote.
Boniface recently extended his contract with the Bundesliga side until 2026, making him one of their highest earners. However, Bayer Leverkusen are reportedly open to selling the Super Eagles forward for a fee of at least €50 million.
Named Bundesliga Rookie of the Season for 2023/24, Boniface enjoyed an exceptional debut campaign, helping Xabi Alonso’s side to a German league and cup double without a single loss, scoring 21 goals. This season, despite being hampered by injuries, he has already netted six Bundesliga goals.
