Arsenal have finally returned to the summit of English football after winning the 2025/26 Premier League title, ending years of frustration and near misses.
Mikel Arteta’s side broke the recent dominance of Manchester City and Liverpool to secure Arsenal’s first league crown since the famous 2003/04 “Invincibles” season under Arsène Wenger.
The triumph also marked a major turning point for Arteta, who guided Arsenal through three consecutive runner-up finishes before finally delivering the club’s first major trophy since 2020.
While Arsenal’s latest success has reignited debate about the balance of power in English football, Manchester United remains the most successful club in Premier League history.

Here are the six clubs with the most Premier League titles since the competition began in 1992.
1. Manchester United — 13 titles
Manchester United still lead the way with 13 Premier League trophies, all won under legendary manager Alex Ferguson.
United dominated English football throughout the 1990s and 2000s, building multiple title winning teams filled with stars such as Ryan Giggs, Paul Scholes, Roy Keane, Wayne Rooney, Cristiano Ronaldo and David Beckham. Their first Premier League title came in the 1992/93 season, ending a 26 year wait to become champions of England again. Ferguson later guided the club to two separate runs of three consecutive league titles and retired in 2013 after delivering United’s most recent Premier League crown.
2. Manchester City — 8 titles
Manchester City have become the dominant force of the modern era under Pep Guardiola.
City won eight Premier League titles, with Guardiola responsible for six of them after arriving at the club in 2016. His side transformed English football with an attacking style built around possession, technical quality and relentless consistency.
Their 2023/24 triumph further strengthened City’s place among the Premier League’s modern greats.

3. Chelsea — 5 titles
Chelsea’s rise as a Premier League powerhouse began under José Mourinho, who delivered titles in the 2004/05 and 2005/06 seasons.
The London club later added further league triumphs under Carlo Ancelotti in 2009/10, Mourinho again in 2014/15, and Antonio Conte in 2016/17.
Chelsea established themselves as one of England’s most successful clubs during the Premier League era through heavy investment and consistent competition at the highest level.
4. Arsenal — 4 titles
Arsenal’s latest triumph takes them to four Premier League titles overall.
Before Arteta’s breakthrough in 2025/26, the club’s previous successes all came under Wenger, who won the league in 1997/98, 2001/02 and the unforgettable 2003/04 campaign.
That 2003/04 side earned global recognition after completing the entire league season unbeaten, becoming known as “The Invincibles”.
Arteta’s achievement now places him alongside Wenger as one of the managers to deliver Premier League glory to Arsenal supporters.

5. Liverpool — 2 titles
Liverpool waited three decades to win the league again before Jürgen Klopp guided them to the Premier League title in 2019/20.
The club added a second Premier League crown in 2024/25 under Arne Slot, who made an immediate impact after replacing Klopp at Anfield.
Despite Liverpool’s rich history in English football, most of their domestic league titles came before the Premier League era began.
6. Blackburn Rovers and Leicester City — 1 title each
Blackburn Rovers and Leicester City each produced one of the Premier League’s greatest surprise title wins.
Blackburn, managed by Kenny Dalglish, won the league in 1994/95 ahead of Manchester United in dramatic fashion on the final day of the season.
More than two decades later, Leicester stunned the football world by winning the 2015/16 title under Claudio Ranieri. The achievement is widely regarded as one of the biggest upsets in sporting history.
