Dynamo SK appoints Nigeria’s Sola Adewumi as Vice Chairman

Dynamo SK, a football club competing in the Czech Republic First Division, has named Sola Adewumi as its Vice Chairman.

Adewumi is a graduate of the University of Lagos and a seasoned Nigerian sports marketing expert with a focus on turning around the fortunes of Dynamo SK, currently facing the threat of relegation in the Czech first league.

Adewumi will work closely with Dynamo SK majority owner and Chairman of the Board of Directors, Vladimír Koubek, to restructure the club with a robust investment drive to attract partners for the club’s development.

Speaking on his new role at Dynamo SK, Adewumi drew parallels between Dynamo SK and Nigeria’s Premier Football League side, 3SC, emphasizing the club’s rich history, passionate fan base, and traditional significance.

“I liken Dynamo CB to Shooting Stars of Ibadan in so many ways. Like Shooting, it is a traditional club with incredible fan affinity and arguably everyone’s favourite second team,” Adewumi said.

Speaking further on the immediate focus areas, Adewumi stated, “We communicate with investors, sponsors, and other stakeholders at the local, regional, and international levels.”

Adewumi also highlighted the club’s cultural significance, being the third oldest club in the Czech Republic, established in 1900.

Despite the club’s current position at the bottom of the Czech First League with just 11 points after 19 games, Adewumi is confident Dynamo SK will return to winning ways.

The club has a resilient history, having successfully returned to the top flight after suffering relegation three times, most recently in 2005.

With his wealth of experience over 15 years in sports management and consultancy in Africa, the United Kingdom and Europe, Dynamo SK’s board believes Adewumi will propel the club to new heights.
