2024 U.S. Open: Detailed Breakdown of Prize Money Distribution

The 2024 U.S. Open is set to be an exciting tournament, with several stars to watch across both the men’s and women’s draws. The biggest tennis tournament is making history with a staggering $75 million in total prize money, the largest purse ever offered in tennis. This marks a 15.38% increase from the $65 million awarded in 2023.

This year’s champions in New York will each take home $3.6 million, which is 20% more than the $3 million awarded to Novak Djokovic and Coco Gauff in 2023 when they lifted the prestigious Tiffany and Co. trophy. The runner-up will receive $1.8 million, a 20% increase from last year.

Prize money increases are consistent across all rounds. For instance, first-round losers will earn $100,000, reflecting a 22.7% increase from the previous year. Players who fall in the qualifying rounds will also see a boost, with first-round (Q1) losses now earning $25,000, up 13.64% from 2023.

Due to the 2024 Paralympic Games, the US Open Wheelchair Championships will not be held this year. However, the USTA has provided player grants equivalent to the prize money for those who would have been directly accepted into the event.

Since 2014, prize money at the U.S. Open has soared by 96.07%, up from $38.25 million, with every main draw round now offering at least six figures.

Additionally, all participants will receive travel vouchers worth $1,000, two hotel rooms at the official player hotel (or $600 per day for alternative accommodations), increased meal allowances, and free racquet stringing for up to five racquets per round.

The 2024 U.S. Open, which runs from August 26 to September 8, promises not only prestige but also significant financial rewards, making it a highlight of the tennis calendar. All eyes will be on New York as the final Grand Slam of the season unfolds

The 2024 US Open is scheduled to run from Monday, August 26 to Sunday, September 8, at Flushing Meadows, New York. Matches will kick off at 16:00 BST, with night sessions starting at midnight.
