Osun tertiary institutions’ workers end 2-month-old strike

The teaching and non-teaching members of staff of the four state-owned tertiary institutions on Tuesday called-off their two-month old strike.

The ending of the strike followed an agreement reached on Monday with the state government of Osun.

The state-owned tertiary institutions that went on strike included College of Technology, Esa-Oke; the Osun State Polytechnic, Iree; College of Education, Ila-Orangun and the College of Education, Ilesha.

But in a joint release by the two associations, which was signed by their presidents and secretaries, Ademiluyi F. A.; Fasipe O. O.; Jimoh L. A. and Esan Dm O, respectively, the agreement was reached after a successful deliberation between government representatives and the tertiary institution unions on the implementation of the 2009 Consolidated Salary of Tertiary Institutions (CONTEDISS) and Colleges of Education Staff Salary Structure (CONPCASS).
