Caleb Mutfwang, the governor Plateau state has dismissed allegations suggesting that he imposed aspirants ahead of the senatorial primary elections, describing the claims as false and misleading.
In a statement signed by Gyang Bere, his Director of Press and Public Affairs (DOPA), obtained by BusinessDay on Tuesday in Jos, the governor said the purported statement circulating online did not originate from him, despite attempts to portray it as reflecting his position on the exercise.

According to the statement, the publication falsely presented the governor as expressing “his peaceful and democratic disposition as well as his consistent call for free, fair, and credible elections across Plateau State”.
The government stressed that the statement was fabricated and urged members of the public as well as party faithful to disregard it entirely, insisting that it did not represent the official position of the governor or the administration.
Mutfwang also called on political stakeholders to maintain peace throughout the electoral process, stressing that “the peace, unity, and stability of Plateau remain the utmost priority of his administration”.
