Former Vice President Atiku Abubakar and former Minister of Transportation Rotimi Amaechi have obtained the African Democratic Congress (ADC) expression of interest and nomination forms ahead of the 2027 presidential election.
Another presidential aspirant, Mohammed Hayatu-Deen, also picked up the party’s N90 million forms earlier.
Bolaji Abdullahi, the National Publicity Secretary of the ADC, confirmed the development on Friday, stating that the three aspirants had completed the process.
“Yes, the three of them — Atiku, Amaechi and Hayatu-Deen — have obtained the forms,” Abdullahi said.
Hayatu-Deen, who received his forms from the ADC National Organising Secretary, Chinedu Idigo, said the 2027 election should focus on economic recovery, insecurity and the rising cost of living.
According to him, Nigerians are grappling with hardship, job losses and growing insecurity across the country.
“This election cannot be about politics as usual. It must be about how to secure our communities, rebuild confidence in the economy, create jobs at scale and make life more affordable for millions of Nigerians,” he said.
The ADC has fixed May 6 to May 13 for the sale of its presidential expression of interest and nomination forms.
Meanwhile, the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) has scheduled the presidential and National Assembly elections for January 16, 2027, while governorship and state assembly elections will hold on February 6, 2027.
