APC challenges PDP gubernatorial victory in Bauchi at election tribunal

The All Progressive Congress (APC) has filed a petition at Bauchi State election Petition tribunal Friday challenge the governorship election won by the PDP.

Senator Bala Abdulkadir Mohammed of the PDP was declared the winner of the election when he defeated the incumbent, Governor Mohammed Abdullahi Abubakar of the APC.

The state APC chairman, Uba Ahmed Nana while  Speaking after submitting the petition, said they filed the petition to seek justice over the alleged discrepancies in the election.

Governor Abubakar had earlier conceded defeat and congratulated the governor elect, Senator Bala Abdulkadir Mohammed but later informed that,  the APC national leadership has decided to challenge the PDP victory court.

Reacting, the PDP State publicity secretary, Yayanuwa Zainabari  said that, it was ridiculous for Governor Abubakar and the APC to allege that the PDP rigged the election.

According to him, the election was conducted on a peaceful manner with little incidences in all the local governments of the state.

Zainabari disclosed that their candidate also won in the supplementary elections conducted by INEC in areas were results were cancelled.
