In depicting the fact that the bedrock of any human gathering is the level of nurturing her younger generations, however, to ensure credible and effective leadership, there is the need to actualise the realisation of rightful and law-abiding followers.

A peaceful follower today will become an effective leader tomorrow.

Leadership is the ability to compel obedience, ability to influence the decisions of others.

For a nation to experience progression in a new dimension, her political leadership must be in tandem with the stipulations of rule of law. There ought to be fusion between the government and the governed which implies people focusing into good and qualitative governance.

For there to be a dramatic development within the state, the people need to have a legitimate mode of governmental operation, the constitution needs to be the will of the people, drawn from a collaborative adherence for proper execution.

Using Nigeria as a case study, our government often adheres to the dictate of the constitution base on personal will not the collective will of the people.

In moment like this the government should be very pragmatic in the representation, and leadership of the Nigeria state.

There ought to be a blueprint that guides the rules of engagement in leadership for good governance, in other words these can be termed Strategic Steps for effective leadership, good governance.

These strategic steps are listed below, thus: Vision, Mission, Communication, Education, Upliftment of the rule of law, and Upholding God’s Dictate and Principles.

Vision

Vision is the ability to project and see beyond the surface, this implies observing beyond the bases.

As a leader either political, business or any form of leadership position we find ourselves, we must be able to have a foresight of advancement and upliftment.

It is the vision of the leader that culminates into giant strides for the team, organisation, or state. What are you seeing for the present dispensation and future that will culminate into the realisation of National progression?

What are you visualising for the next generation, is it progression or retrogression?

There ought to be a map out plan for continuous legacy, this should transcend beyond tribe and religion.

Where we are today is a result of the formation of our founding fathers and leaders.

The developmental projection strides are the functions of leadership.

Mission

What is your intention in the developmental projection stride of leadership and governance within your jurisdiction? Are you on a journey of progression or retrogression? What is your projection?

What task, project or engagement are you processing, executing or formulating within your terrain?

Communication

As a leader, you should have access to information that will result to the elevation and progression of your generation, nation, organisation, community at will.

A democratic government must ensure that it decisions and policies are communicated to the people through freedom of information. In same vein the feedback needs to be surveyed or rather scrutinised for proper execution, effective and efficient service delivery.

Education

A government of any nation that yearns for the progression of her people must be proactively involved in the inculcation of knowledge to the people because knowledge birth advantage in governmental formulation.

As a political leader no matter the situation within your nation, the rightful execution of information in proportion to the situation (issue) will determine your connection in respect to your allocation for national progression; this denote adhering to the rules of engagement, upholding the dictates of the constitution.

Upliftment of the rule of law

The principles of the rule of law must be upheld in democratic settings for effective leadership and good governance.

The tenet of the leader’s jurisdiction needs to be formulated and executed based on reference to the universal human right charter of the United Nations Organization (U.N.O).

The policies and decisions of government must be enshrined under principles of the rule of law.

In terms of security, the constitution of the federal republic of Nigeria stipulates that the security and welfare of the people shall be the primary purpose of Government. This infers that all governmental policies must be centered on securing the people for their betterment.

Upholding God’s dictate and principles

We all came from God Almighty and unto him we will return. It will be worthy of note to depict the fact that God established the earth we are inhabiting as his investment but for him to operate maximally and efficiently, God placed us here as his representatives. The earth he has given to the sons of men. It is an illegality for God to operate on earth without the consent of at least a man, remember when God wanted to relinquish (destroy) Sodom and Gomorrah, he sought for the consent of Abraham. There is no rightful step for a wrong action likewise there is no good step for a bad action, for every action there is always repercussion.
