The Ondo State Security Network Agency, (Amotekun), has said that it plays a complimentary role in helping the Police, Army and other security agencies to fight bandits, terrorists, kidnappers and other crimes in the Southwest region of the Country.

Adetunji Adeleye, the Commander, Ondo Amotekun Corps and Chairman of the Amotekun Commanders in the Southwest, who stated this on Wednesday in Akure while parading 21 suspected criminals for various offences across the State, however said the Amotekun rangers had been deployed to the forests to evict the bandits.

“He said, “The Amotekun rangers are in the forest already to flush out the bandits who may want to use our forests as hideouts. Like I do say, no room for bandits in Ondo State.

“Today we are parading 21 suspects that have breached the peace in various parts of the state in the last fortnight. We are rounding up the Yuletide 24-7 patrol and we are concentrating more on the armored rangers as a result of the increasing rate of security breaches on our forests.

“Across board, we have four kidnapped suspects, five that violated the anti-open grazing law and 12 that breached the general law and order of the state.

“The implication of this after due analysis is that the State is relatively peaceful. The security breaches we have ranges from suspected kidnapper, fighting and civil disorder, wandering, anti-grazing, stealing of phones and attempted murder, stealing of aluminum products, destruction of properties, conspiracy and stealing of motorcycles, conspiracy, stealing and aiding and abetting of motorcycles.

“One of the suspects here with a pistol not a gun, a rod, what they do is that he carries it and hits the unsuspecting Okada rider in the head from the back and disposes him of the Okada.”
