Vitafoam donates four blocks of classrooms to Borno govt

The Group Managing Director of Vitafoam Nigeria PLC, Taiwo Adeniyi has constructed four blocks of classrooms worth million of naira to support education sector ravaged by insurgency in Borno State

Adeniyi said that more funding in education systems will accelerate growth and reduce terrorism and other nervous activities in the country.

He said this shortly after the official commissioning and hand over of the four blocks of classrooms constructed and equipped with learning materials by Vitafoam as part of corporate responsibility service (CSR) to the host community in Maiduguri.

Adeniyi and his team commended Borno State Government under the leadership of Governor Babagana Zulum for his developmental effort and appreciates all the support and assistance rendered to the victims of insurgency.

“We recognised the effort of state Governor, Babagana Zulum in trying to bring back education because everybody has realised that basic education is very important to development of any child.

“And that’s why the investment around education is done and vital to growth and development.

“You will be sure that the harm on children on the streets or joining terrorists to cuase mayhem all over the place will be drastically reduce. If we are able to get these little ones out of the streets and those ones (terrorists) would not be able to have them for nefarious activities.

“We have built four befitting blocks of classrooms, with desks and learning materials for pupils in Budum Pry School and we are trying to support the efforts to of state government,” he said.

He also said that the pilot project was constructed by Vitafoam Nigeria PLC as a token of endorsement and support for the state government’s education policy and in honour of an illustrious son of the the state, the late Abba Gana Abatca who until his death served the company meritoriously as the Vitafoam Nigeria PLC group technical development director.

Earlier, the Borno State Deputy Governor, Usman Kadafur commended the organisation for its CSR initiatives that have been put in place for the successful construction and handing over of four befitting blocks of classrooms at Budum Primary School in Maiduguri.

He used the occasion to appeal to other companies to emulate the good gesture done by the organisation
towards the development of education in the state, especially at this trying time of the recovery process.

He equally appealed to the company to expand its base in the state to provide job opportunities for the teeming youths.
