Supreme Court has reserved judgment on the appeal lodged by the All Progressives Congress (APC) and its Adamawa State governorship candidate, Aisha Dahiru, commonly known as Binani, against the incumbent governor, Ahmadu Fintiri.
The state election petition tribunal and the Court of Appeal had previously dismissed Binani’s petition challenging Fintiri’s victory in the governorship election.
In Monday’s proceedings at the apex court, a five-member panel presided over by John Okoro adjourned the matter for judgment after hearing arguments from the involved parties. Binani, represented by counsel Akin Olujimi, contended that the controversial declaration by the Resident Electoral Commissioner, Hudu Ari, was lawful.
