The Oyo State Police Command on Thursday paraded former Chairman of Oyo State Park Management System (PMS), Lamidi Mukaila for alleged murder, arms dealing, armed robbery and kidnapping.

Police had earlier declared Mukaila popularly known as Auxiliary wanted over alleged involvement in a series of armed robbery, kidnapping, and murder cases in Oyo State.

Last week, the Department of State Services however arrested him at his residence in the Olodo area of Ibadan.

Adebola Hamzat, the Commissioner of Police in Oyo state who paraded the suspect before journalists at the command’s headquarters, Eleyele, Ibadan, said a lot of life-taking weapons, ammunition and cash were recovered from him.

The Oyo police boss said “exhibits recovered in his possession at his Diamond Hotel residence around Alakia-Isebo Egbeda under Egbeda Local Government Area at the time include one AK-47 Riffle, four AK-47 magazines, 84 live AK-47 Ammunitions, Nineteen (19) pump action riffles, one Barreta Pistol, Seven Cut-to-size Gun, one English made Barrel Gun.

“Others are 724 live cartridges, 25 cutlasses, Seven Jack knives, 33 mobile phones, one Samsung Laptop, Charms, One Mazda Bus, One Toyota Sienna, Cash sum of N3,450,000.00.

According to him, in furtherance of these, a discreet intelligence-led search commenced for the sacked PMS chieftain with the help of technology, and collaborative efforts with Sister Services and Community Policing, many locations were identified, traced and combed for months until his recent arrest in a concerted effort with our sister services.

“While the command is thanking the public for providing credible information to curb crime, it has become imperative to affirm to the general public about our resolve to deal decisively with any criminally motivated individual or group who intends to flip the state retrogressively into the historical dark ages of the ‘Wild West’. If you see something, say something and the Police will immediately do something’’.

Hamzat who stated that “if you see something, say something and the Police will immediately do something disclosed that the suspect will soon be charged to court for offences committed.
