Oyo converts 1,591 local govt ad-hoc workers into permanent staff, issues appointment letters

The Oyo State Government has converted one thousand, five hundred and ninety-one local government ad-hoc workers across the state into permanent staff.

It would be recalled that Governor Seyi Makinde, approved the conversion of ad-hoc staff in the service of the 33 Local Government Councils in the state into permanent staff in October last year, to bridge the gap in the workforce at the local government level.

In fulfilment of the governor’s promise, the Commissioner for Local Government and Chieftaincy Matters, Ademola Ojo said the workers were given letters of appointment at the weekend.

The commissioner said that due process for the employment was followed effectively and perfected.

He congratulated the successful candidates and wished them success in their new roles.

The commissioner said that those who collected their letters of appointment were administrative officers, agricultural officers, data processing officers, engineering, building, quantity surveyors and estate valuation officers.

Others were environmental health officers, information officers, land surveyors, clerical officers, messengers, cleaners, drivers/mechanics, articulated vehicle drivers and watchmen.
