Nigerian entrepreneurs should leverage social capital for sustainable business – Akintayo

Number of Nigerians on social media hits 36.7 million — Report

Stephen Akintayo, chairman of Gtext Holdings, a real estate group of companies, has urged entrepreneurs in Nigeria to leverage social capital in building enduring and sustainable businesses.

He made this revelation during the recent 15th anniversary celebration and public presentation of three of his latest books in Lagos. The books are Becoming a Billionaire Land Banker, Billionaire Habits For Entrepreneurs, and Billionaire Habits For Pastors.

Akintayo said he relied on his social capital in the last 15 years to build a business that started off with about N1000 offering bulk sms services into a multi-billion dollar real estate firm. He disclosed that his driving motivation for writing regularly was borne out of the need to deepen and contribute to the body of knowledge in the real estate sector and entrepreneurship in general.

“When I started this journey of entrepreneurship 15 years ago, I struggled to find a Nigerian book authored by Nigeria that was able to help me to know how to navigate my way as an entrepreneur,” Akintayo said.

According to him, the books will expose readers interested in the real estate industry to some of the basic entry requirements like how to buy genuine lands; how to navigate the real estate industry in Nigeria; types of documents to look out for, among others. “You just need to understand the principles and how you can replicate what has been done”.

Farouq Usman, branch manager, Gtext Homes, said Gtext Holdings in the past 15 years has through its people and innovation fostered, pushing the boundaries to shape the future of technology and wealth creation in the real estate sector.

Speaking further on Gtext Holdings successes, Usman said that its ethical business practice has earned the trust and confidence of its clients, partners and stakeholders. According to him, this unwavering commitment to competence and integrity has been the foundation of Gtext Holdings success in ensuring enduring relationships and long standing sustainability.

“Our global footprint is a testament to our unwavering pursuit of growth and expansion. Gtext Holdings has been established in four different continents. This shows our ability to adapt and thrive in diverse markets, and also our commitment to serving our clients.
