NGO urges massive conservation to combat climate change impact

Tackling the crisis of biodiversity

A Non-Governmental Organisation, Well of Science, has urged government at all levels including stakeholders to embark on massive conservation as a deliberate programme to combat the growing impact of climate change.

It said the planting of more trees as part of conservation measures would go a long way to mitigate the impact of climate change in society.

Etia Nwaenang, the chief executive officer of the organisation, who stated this during the launch of this year’s World Earth Day in Uruan Local Government Area of the state, said that conservation would ensure that the environment was preserved for future generations.

“We must understand the importance of preserving the environment for future generations and play active roles in the realisation of a sustainable society,” Nwaenang said.
