Striking labour unions have shut down the National Assembly complex, stranding workers.
Members of the Nigeria Labour Congress (NLC) and the Trade Union Congress (TUC) protested on Tuesday by locking all gates leading to the national assembly, denying entry to several workers and pedestrians.

In addition, the striking union approached some institutions at the federal secretariat, urging workers to abandon their duties and go home.
The labour strike is a protest against the battering of NLC President Joe Ajaero and some other executives of the congress in Owerri, Imo State on November 1, as well as pending labour issues in Imo State.
