Lagos Church, Dominion City, proposes N1bn support fund for entrepreneurs

…as Lutheran Church ordains Malau as new bishop

Dominion City Church says it has budgeted N1 billion to empower entrepreneurs in the Country as part of its initiatives to equip members for exponential growth and foster sustainable socio-economic advancement.

These were among the outcomes of the just-concluded 2025 Lagos executive leadership retreat for entrepreneurs and career professionals, which was held with David Ogbueli, president of Dominion City Global, at the Church’s Headquarters, in Lagos.

The five-day retreat was aimed at equipping individuals with the tools and mindset to improve their economic standing and society through wealth creation, to become 10 times more productive, imbibe business innovations, access global opportunities, and primarily be useful for kingdom work.

At the retreat, participants—both onsite and online—numbering more than 1,000 were trained and fully exposed to addressing food security via pastoral farming, shifting agriculture, subsistence farming, and commercial agriculture; economic empowerment, discipleship, and spiritual growth; job creation; global migration and expansion; resource mobilization for business funding; and healthcare, among other topics.

Ogbueli, who proposed a N1 billion support fund for entrepreneurs, stated that one of the goals of the empowerment retreat was to equip congregants with the skills, resources, and support necessary to succeed in business and their careers, thereby preparing them to go global and strengthen both individual livelihoods and the broader society.

The Lutheran Church of Christ in Nigeria (LCCN) has consecrated a new bishop to oversee its affairs. The consecration ceremony, which took place at the LCCN Cathedral in Numan, Adamawa State at the weekend, marked a significant milestone in the Church’s history.

Nelson Malau, the newly-consecrated bishop, was the 6th bishop to be consecrated, he was ordained by Godwin Udosen in the presence of dignitaries, clergy, and laity from across the Country.

In his sermon, Bishop Godwin Udosen, the consecrator,
charged the new bishop to be a faithful servant of the Lord and to prioritise the spiritual growth and development of the Church.

In his acceptance address, Nelson Malau, however, pledged to work tirelessly to promote the gospel, foster unity among the congregation, and address the social and economic challenges facing the Church and its Communities.
