UNKNOWN gunmen have attacked the Ohaukwu Police Division at Ezzamgbo in Ebonyi State and set ablaze vehicles.

The attack took place in the early hours of Tuesday. A source close to Ohaukwu said no life was lost as Police officers on duty repealed the gunmen.
Ikechukwu Odono, Chairman of Ohaukwu Local Government Area confirmed the attack and said that the hoodlums disrupted the distribution of Governor Francis Nwifuru’s palliatives in the Council headquarters as people ran for safety.
He said that no life was lost but the attackers burnt some vehicles in the Police State.
A source said that the gunmen numbering eight came in a bus and started shooting which caused panic in the area and also disrupted vehicle movements for some munites on the busy Abakaliki/ Enugu highway.
“Everyone including the Chairman of the Council ran the run of their lives to avoid injuries from the gunshots”, the source said.
