Gen Tsiga’s kidnappers demand N250m ransom

Kidnappers who took retired general Maharazu Tsiga, a former Director-General of the National Youth Service Corps (NYSC), are asking for N250 million to free him.

According to Daily Trust, someone close to the family, who asked not to be named, said that the kidnappers had contacted them with this demand.

Tsiga was kidnapped along with nine other people.

More than 100 armed men surrounded the General’s home around midnight on Wednesday and took him away.

Abdullahi Balarabe Dabai, who represents the Bakori/Danja area in Katsina State’s parliament, told reporters that when the attackers surrounded the house and started breaking doors, the general came out and asked them what they wanted.

At the time this news was written, neither the army spokesman from 17 Brigade in Katsina nor the police spokesman had answered messages about the incident.
