FG adds Thursday to Eid-El-Fitr public holiday

Olubunmi Tunji-Ojo

The Federal Government, through the Ministry of Interior, has approved Thursday, April 11, 2024, as an additional public holiday to celebrate this year’s Eid-El-Fitr.

This was made known on Tuesday in a tweet by Olubunmi Tunji Ojo, the minister of interior, on X. The statement was signed by Aishetu Gogo Ndayako, permanent secretary of the ministry.

The minister, while felicitating with the muslim faithful for a successful completion of a month of spiritual rejuvenation, restates President Bola Ahmed Tinubu’s promises to providing a safe and prosperous Nigeria for all to thrive.

The federal government had earlier announced Tuesday and Wednesday for the holiday. However, the additional holiday followed the announcement of the Ramadan fasting heading today by the Sultan of Sokoto.
