#EndSARS protesters barricade Lagos-Ibadan Expressway

The EndSARS protesters on Tuesday took over the Alausa, Ikeja axis of the Lagos-Ibadan Expressway, as they continued their call for justice for victims of police brutality in the country.

The EndSARS protest is continuing in Lagos despite repeated appeals by the Lagos State governor, Babajide Sanwo-Olu to the protesters to observe a break today, and allow his administration to engage Federal Government and the police authorities on their demands.

Sanwo-Olu is expected to visit Aso Rock Villa today, to brief President Muhammadu Buhari on the demands of the protesters.

Some of the demands of the protesters include total overhaul of the Nigeria Police Force, unconditional release of arrested protesters nationwide, compensation for victims of SARS’ brutality and prosecution of SARS officers found culpable.

The protest turned bloody in Lagos on Monday, as a policeman and two civilians were reportedly shot dead while some of the protesters were arrested.
