Donald Trump has been sworn in as the 47th president of the United States by Chief Justice John Roberts. In an indoor ceremony before dignitaries from all over the world.

In his inauguration address, Trump vowed that “the golden age of America begins right now.”

The newly inaugurated president thanked several of the former presidents in attendance and outgoing President Joe Biden

“From this day forward, our country will flourish and be respected again all over the world. We will be the envy of every nation, and we will not allow ourselves to be taken advantage of any longer,” Trump said.

Trump then said that Biden lacked ability to manage the affairs of the nation and in extension the diaspora activities of the United States.

“We now have a government that cannot manage a simple crisis at home while at the same time stumble into a continuing catalog of catastrophic events abroad,” Trump said.

“All of this will change starting today, and it will change very quickly,”

“My recent election is a mandate to completely and totally reverse a horrible betrayal, and all of these many betrayals that have taken place, and to give the people back their faith, their wealth, their democracy and, indeed, their freedom. From this moment on, America’s decline is over.”

“We now have a government that cannot manage a simple crisis at home while at the same time stumble into a continuing catalog of catastrophic events abroad,” Trump said.

The president also touched on immigration, a major focus of his new administration, saying, the government

“fails to protect our magnificent law-abiding citizens but proves sanctuary and protection for dangerous criminals.”

“We have a government that has given unlimited funding to the defense of foreign borders but refuses to defend American borders or, more importantly, its own people.” he said.

“It is my hope that our recent presidential election will be remembered as the greatest and most consequential election in the history of our country,” Trump said during his inaugural address Monday.
