Raheem Adedoyin, Hotelier and founder of Oduduwa University has been sentenced to death by hanging over the murder of Timothy Adegoke, a student of Obafemi Awolowo University, Ile-Ife who died in 2021.

Justice Oyebola Ojo, Osun State chief judge who presided over the case found the Hilton Hotel owner and some of his staff guilty of murder and conspiracy.

The court in a ruling on Tuesday, May 30 held that circumstantial evidence confirmed that Adedoyin and his staff killed Adegoke and tried to conceal their crime.

The prosecuting counsel, Femi Falana, told the court that the defendants committed the offence as charged, while the defense counsel led by Yusuf Alli, insisted that there was no evidence that his clients murdered Adegoke.

Security was however beefed up at the entrance and premises of the Osun State High Court, Osogbo, ahead of the judgment.
