The Federal High Court (FHC) in Abuja on Monday suspended indefinitely the alleged terrorism charges trial of Nnamdi Kanu, leader of the proscribed Indigenous People of Biafra (IPOB).
Justice Binta Nyako issued the order after Aloy Ejimakor, Nnamdi Kanu and his counsel argued that she no longer had jurisdiction to preside over the case due to her previous recusal.

Justice Nyako had on September 24, 2024 withdrew from Kanu’s trial following an oral application by the defense, leading to the case file being transferred to the chief judge.
However, Justice John Tsoho, Chief Judge of the Federal High Court, , returned Kanu’s case file to Justice Nyako for adjudication, emphasising that the defence must submit a formal application before the recusal could be considered.
