Former boss of the Presidential Pension Reform Task Team (PRTT), Abdulrasheed Maina, on Thursday collapsed in court.
Maina, who is facing money laundering charges levelled against him and a firm by the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC) to the tune of N2 billion, collapsed when the registrar of the court was at the point confirming the record of proceedings.
He was arrested in Niger Republic on November 30, 2020, through the collaborative efforts of the operatives of the Nigeria Police Force, INTERPOL NCB, Abuja and their Nigerien counterparts and extradited to Nigeria.

When his case was called on Thursday, Maina’s counsel, Anayo Adibe, told the court that he has not been availed with the record of proceedings to enable him to move a no-case submission.
He requested a short adjournment to enable him to get records of proceedings and do the needful.
However, the trial judge, Justice Okon Abang, insisted that the defence counsel has not done the needful to get a record of proceedings.
But Maina, who was in the dock, suddenly collapsed and hit against the rail of the dock just as the court registrar was at the point confirming the record of proceedings.
At this point, Justice Abang rose abruptly.
