AMB gives June 22 as new date for supplementary UTME

The Joint Admission and Matriculation Board (JAMB) has picked June 22 as the new date for the Unified Tertiary Matriculation Examination (UTME) supplementary for candidates who witnessed technical hitches during the first examination.

JAMB explained that the rescheduled examination is for candidates who experienced malfunctions with the computer systems at the test centre or biometric verification failure during the recent 2024 UTME examination and were duly recognised as those affected.

According to a statement from Benjamin Fabian, the head of media and publicity at JAMB, the rescheduled examination is to ensure that those affected have another opportunity to take the UTME and pursue their academic goals without being ostracised by technical issues beyond their control.

However, concerned candidates are urged to ensure they reprint their examination slips as soon as possible to avoid confusion during the examination.

“The reprinted slip will contain your designated examination time and venue for the JAMB examination reschedules 2024. Reprinting your examination slip is important to avoid any confusion or last-minute scrambling on exam day,” the statement reads.

Candidates are warned not to enter the examination hall with their electronic devices such as mobile phones, calculators, smart watches, smart rings, bluetooth devices, flash drives, and any other electronic device that could be used to gain an unfair advantage.

Others are books and other reading/writing materials; such as textbooks, notes, scrap paper, and any other materials that could be used to cheat. Also prohibited are cameras, recorders, and microphones, among others.
