100 creatives to graduate from Cross River State’s creative accelerators programme

One hundred creatives will graduate from the inaugural cohort of the Creative Accelerators Programme (CAP) on Saturday, February 8, 2025, at the Prof. Eyo Ita House conference hall in Calabar.

The programme, a collaboration between the Cross River State Microfinance and Enterprise Development Agency (MEDA) and the Office of the Special Assistant to the President on Digital and Creative Economy (Office of the Vice President), led by Fegho Umunubo, aims to bolster the digital and creative economy by developing a new generation of creative professionals.

The graduation ceremony will feature a competition where all participants will pitch their creative ideas. The top ten students will each receive five hundred thousand naira to support the launch of their creative careers.

“This initiative is aimed at promoting the creative sector and boosting the overall business ecosystem,” Great Ogban, director general of MEDA, said.

Ogban further said: “Cross River State was selected as the pilot state for this program due to its strong drive for MSME development, thanks to the tireless effort of His Excellency, Sen. Prince Bassey Edet Otu.”

The CAP programme seeks to contribute to the national economic growth by cultivating a skilled workforce in the digital and creative industries.
