African policy makers and business leaders attending the first annual BusinessDay African business convention have outlined what the continent must do to take full advantage of the continental free trade pact to promote wealth creation and employment generation post-covid pandemic.

According to the business leaders African must walk its talk by being diligent in doing what it says it will do and by being good at policy implementation beyond simply wishing that things will get better.

Following this is the call for the emergence of competent political leaders across Africa. The economies of the various countries on the continent will not grow at the pace desired without good political leadership, leaders that agile and with requisite knowledge.

The business leaders also called on Africans to be proud of their heritage and must believe that the success of one African country will spur the success of others as has happened around the world.

Other factors listed include the promotion of free movement of the people of Africa around the continent and the dismantling of the requirement of up to 54 visas for travel across Africa.
