Winners of ‘Dance Nigeria 2025’ to get N5m – Azuka

…Urges youths to maximise opportunity

As unemployment, social vices and inflation continue to ravage the youth in Nigeria, the Executive Director of Amexx Logistics Services Limited, organiser of Dance Nigeria 2025, Andy Azuka has said that the winner of the Star Prize would go home with N5 million, while the second runner up would take home N2million and 3rd runner up would win N1million each.

Azuka made the remark at a press conference and the unveiling of Dance Nigeria 2025 at Port Harcourt, Rivers State.

The Executive Director explained that their organisation was into talent hunt among other services to keep the youth out of the streets and to also empower them financially.

He said that his company was the sole representative of United Dance Organisation, United Kingdom, one of the biggest organisers of World Dance Championship in the World with over 47 country partners.

“We are organising the biggest dance championship in the Sub-Sahara Africa,” he said.

Explaining further, Azuka said that the event was dedicated to youths, especially those with creative dance to help them develop their arts and craft and to help showcase their talent and potential to the general public and compete favourably with their counterparts across the globe, noting that they will make money while becoming global celebrity.

In his remarks, the Creative Director, Terry Ego ssaid that Dance Nigeria would begin on 22nd February 2025 as the maiden edition in Nigeria with fantastic prizes.

He said the youth would earn hard currency and that the competition would take them out of the street and create employment opportunity for them.

Answering questions on categories of the competition, he said it was open for youths within the age of 14, 16 to 20 years of age.

On the types of dance to be conducted, he said it would be free style and street dance because it is an international dance and winners from Nigeria will compete outside the country to win title .

Asked if they have sponsors for the programme, he stated that for now, there is no sponsor yet, but they are expecting individuals, companies and corporate organisations to sponsor as part of their Corporate Social Responsibilities (CSR).

On the benefit for the youth, he stressed that the lucky winners would be exposed to context at the international level, saying that Dance Nigeria will boost the economic potential of youths, especially now that there is unemployment and inflation in the country.

“The stages of the competition include, the regional, geo-political zones and the grand finale,” he said.

Earlier, the Permanent Secretary Ministry of Culture and Tourism, Dieokuma Ishmael expressed readiness of the ministry to support when the time comes as Governor Siminalaye Fubara is a youth-friendly governor.

In an interview shortly after the event, the Executive Director finance and commercial urged the youth to avail themselves of this wonderful opportunity, saying that this is part of their contribution to help the Nigerian youths.
