Sanwo-Olu commits to affordable housing, unveils 170 units in Lagos

Babajide Sanwo-Olu, Lagos State governor, has reaffirmed his administration’s commitment to providing affordable housing for the residents of the state as he unveiled a 170-unit housing project in the Agboyi-Ketu Local Council Development Area (LCDA) Friday.

The project, named Raymond Estate and Sterling Heights, is a government-private sector initiative delivered by the administration of Mayor Dele Oshinowo, the Chairman of Agboyi-Ketu LCDA, in collaboration with Osita Homes and Sterling Bank.

In his address, Governor Sanwo-Olu pledged to ensure that Lagos continues on an irreversible trajectory of development across key sectors, including housing, healthcare delivery, education, tourism, and public transportation.

Sanwo-Olu commended Mayor Oshinowo for his relentless efforts in elevating governance and ensuring that the people of Agboyi-Ketu enjoy the dividends of democracy. He also noted that local governments and LCDAs in the state are performing well in delivering on their mandates.

In his welcome address, Mayor Oshinowo expressed gratitude to the Sanwo-Olu administration for its tremendous support.

He explained that the housing initiative, spearheaded by his administration through the creation of the Agboyi-Ketu Properties and Investment Board (PIB) in collaboration with the private sector, aims to align with the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) by providing affordable, accessible, and quality housing to address the housing deficit in the state.

He added that the housing project exemplifies strong collaboration with the T.H.E.M.E.S PLUS Agenda of the Sanwo-Olu administration.

“The initiative spearheaded by our administration through the creation of the Agboyi-Ketu Property and Investment Board (PIB) in collaboration with the private sector aims to align with the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) by providing affordable, accessible, and quality housing to address deficits in our dear state. This initiative not only showcases Agboyi-Ketu but also aims to boost our Internally Generated Revenue,” Oshinowo said.

He further emphasized the administration’s focus on infrastructure development as a means to enhance human capital and stimulate economic growth.

“I affirm our administration’s dedication to delivering good governance to the people of Agboyi-Ketu LCDA, exemplifying that effective governance at the grassroots level is achievable in Nigeria,” he concluded.
