Remita, a payment company, has reaffirmed its commitment to providing seamless, secure, and inclusive transactions for ePIN sales for millions of Nigerian students preparing for the 2025 Unified Tertiary Matriculation Examination (UTME).
The Joint Admissions and Matriculation Board (JAMB) officially announced the commencement of the 2025 UTME on February 3, 2024. Sales of Direct Entry application documents and ePIN vending will run from February 3 to April 7, 2025. Remita is encouraging students to use its streamlined platform for a hassle-free registration process.
JAMB plays a crucial role in standardising university admissions, and Remita has become a transformative force in financial technology, making critical services more accessible. The ongoing integration of Remita into JAMB’s registration process solidifies Remita’s reputation as a trusted partner in national development.
“With millions of transactions processed securely every year, Remita remains a trusted partner for educational institutions, students, and businesses.
Our work with JAMB underscores our dedication to ensuring that candidates can focus on preparing for their future – not worrying about payment delays or inefficiencies,” says Chinedu Alisa, Head of Enterprise Assets Team, Remita.

Candidates can purchase ePINs through Remita’s website, mobile app, and authorised agents. Registration involves generating a profile code by sending an SMS with their National Identification Number (NIN) to 55019 or 66019.
The 10-digit profile code is then used to purchase ePINs via Remita. Students can select ‘UTME Only,’ ‘UTME + Mock,’ or ‘Mock Only,’ enter their profile code and phone number, complete payment, and receive their PIN instantly.
Alisa emphasised Remita’s commitment to education and accessibility: “Education should not be hindered by financial barriers. At Remita, we are committed to providing a seamless, inclusive, and secure payment experience that ensures every aspiring university student, regardless of their location or access to banking infrastructure, can register for the UTME without stress. This is more than just a transaction—it’s about unlocking opportunities.”
Remita has also empowered agents, schools, and accredited partners nationwide to make ePINs readily available.
These partners benefit from increased commissions for bulk purchases via Remita. Remita has warned against unauthorised price inflation, stating that ePINs must be sold at JAMB’s approved prices.
