Edo born Afrocentric artist Manfred Aifuwa Omogiate, popularly known as Rich M, says his recently released debut single ‘Street Call’ was aimed at inspiring music lovers to share positive vibnes.
“The process of making my first single was like bringing myself back to music.
“At that point, my energy toward music was reducing, so I had to create a song that would revive my passion,” he said in a recent media parley.
He disclosed that his type of music is not just about catchy rhythms; it is deeply Afrocentric and influenced by his Edo heritage.
His sound is a blend of traditional African rhythms with modern beats, creating a unique style that resonates with listeners.
Rich M draws inspiration from his life experiences and the community he grew up in. “I’ve experienced a lot growing up, and that shaped my mindset. I wanted to be a street motivation — to show people that nothing is impossible.”
Beyond the beats, Rich M aims to spread positivity and hope through his music and wants his songs to inspire people and lift their spirits.
“I want my music to share positivity and make people feel motivated,” he said, disclosing that his lyrics reflect themes of resilience, hope, and self-belief, which makes his music relatable to a broad audience.
Rich M, who hails from Benin City said his journey into music is deeply rooted in his life experiences and his desire to inspire others through his unique sound.
“I’m from a city where there aren’t a lot of rich people. Most of us either came from poor homes or average homes, and that motivated me to become something great in life,” he said.
Currently, Rich M is working on his next single, which is set to be released soon. “I can’t give much away, but it’s going to be an Afro song, and it’ll be something unique,” he said.
Looking to the future, Rich M dreams big. He envisions performing on global stages and collaborating with top artists and producers.
“In the next five years, I see myself as an A-list artist, shutting down big shows like the O2 Arena and winning multiple awards.”
His dream collaborators include producers like Metro Boomin, P Prime, and Shizzi, and artists such as Rick Ross, Meek Mill, Burna Boy, and Khaid.
