Apple Bars

It is our pleasure to encourage you to snack on healthy foods. We took the usual and infused chopped apples just to get what our body needs – good nutrition. And we could write a book telling you what these taste like, we suggest you make them yourself.

Ingredients

150 g white sugar

2 tbsp brown sugar

2 tsp cinnamon powder

2 pcs eggs

2 tbsp butter

2 pinch salt

3 tbsp vegetable oil

2 pcs apples

1 tsp baking soda

2 pinch salt

2 cups flour

1 tsp vanilla essence

Method

Preheat the oven to 350 degrees F. Line a 13 x 9 pan with foil and spray the foil with non-stick spray.

Mix the white sugar, 1 teaspoon of cinnamon, 1¼ cups of flour and ½ teaspoon of baking soda in a bowl until well blended. In another bowl, whisk the oil, eggs and vanilla essence, then stir in the apples (chopped).

Mix the dry ingredients and wet ingredients together and spread in the prepared pan.

For the toppings; combine the brown sugar, 2 tablespoons of flour and the remaining cinnamon in a bowl and mix. Cut the butter with a pastry blender until the mixture is crumbly then sprinkle over the batter in the pan.

Bake for about 20-25 minutes or until a skewer inserted into the centre comes out clean. Cool completely on a rack. Lift the cooled cookies out of the pan by grabbing the edges of the foil.

Cut the cookies into bars.

Serve.
