Her goal is to drive organisational success and stakeholder value through ethical and innovative data practices.

Starting off as a software engineer, she developed enterprise applications, but her curiosity soon lured her into the mysterious world of cybersecurity. And her mission? Her mission is to better comprehend the tools, techniques and mindset used by cybercriminals and build more secure applications.

However, Amaka never found her way back to software engineering. Instead, she plunged into the fascinating realm of privacy engineering. Here, she not only advocates for user respect and control, but also empower organisations to achieve more through digital trust.

Now, as AI continues to reshape our world, Amaka Ibeji says she is turning another page. She is stepping up to nurture responsible AI practices, lending her technical expertise to ensure security, privacy, fairness, accountability, and transparency.

Beyond building technical solutions, she said she has also discovered another passion, which is coaching and training. “Nothing exhilarates me more than standing on a stage, sharing my knowledge. As I look to the future, the idea of more travel and more stages spark incredible anticipation within me.” She revealed.

On gender-based online threats, she says these threats are real and pervasive, adding that cyber-bullying, non-consensual sharing of intimate images, stalking, identity theft, and doxxing are just the tip of the iceberg. Her view on this is clearer when she says “With AI’s rapid advancement, these threats will only intensify. We must act now to leverage technology’s benefits while mitigating its risks for women and girls.” Amaka warns.
