The National Association of Proprietors of Private Schools (NAPPS) in Lagos State has partnered with Chronicles Software Development Company to commence the use of SuccessTAB, an innovative educational device in private schools in its efforts toward digitalised education.
According to the school owners’ association for over the next three years, the initiative aims to provide 100,000 learning devices (SuccessTAB) to students across Lagos, focusing on affordability and accessibility, ensuring no student or school is left behind.
Alaka Lukman, the president of NAPPS Lagos chapter, the association in the state is at the forefront of efforts to equip students with the tools they need to thrive in a tech-driven world as the need for digital learning devices becomes increasingly urgent.
“This initiative is a game-changer for education in Lagos. SuccessTAB will not only bridge the gap in digital learning for thousands of students but also underscore our unwavering commitment to ensuring that every child, regardless of their background, has access to the resources they need to excel academically.
“This partnership is a testament to our dedication to closing the digital divide and preparing students for a future where technology is integral to every aspect of life,” he said.
Oluwakoyejo Oluwatosin, the chief executive officer at Chronicles Software in his speech said that the phased rollout will prioritise schools with the greatest need based on factors such as infrastructure, student population, and economic status.
This ensures that SuccessTAB delivers educational content and an immersive learning experience, complete with self-paced quizzes, textbooks, and practice materials, making learning more engaging and effective for students.
The project’s first phase has already been launched, marking a significant milestone in Lagos’s educational digital transformation. SuccessTAB, featuring a detachable Bluetooth keyboard and tailored learning tools, supports junior and senior secondary school curricula. It also provides access to past examination questions for WAEC, BECE, and JAMB, along with interactive resources to boost student performance.
In addition to providing students with the SuccessTAB devices, Chronicles Software Development Company will offer teacher training programs to ensure the effective integration of digital tools into classroom learning.
The partnership will also support the development of CBT (Computer-Based Testing) centres powered by Chronicles to facilitate smoother examination processes, including online practice sessions for major national exams. These initiatives will help foster a more holistic and tech-savvy learning environment.
The first batch of SuccessTABs is already being distributed across NAPPS schools in Lagos. To make the devices more accessible, a flexible payment plan will be provided through partner banks, ensuring that more schools and parents can participate in the program.
NAPPS Lagos and Chronicles Software are optimistic that this initiative will revolutionize education for thousands of students, equipping the next generation with the necessary skills to survive in the new digital world.
