CWG becomes World Economic Forum member

Computer Warehouse Group (CWG Plc), the leading Pan-African Information Communications Technology, has been selected as a member of the World Economic Forum (WEF). This is in recognition of her contributionto the realization ofWEF’s mission of “improving the state of the world”while she served as a Global Growth Company (GGC) on the forum.

This was contained in a statement by the representative of WEF in Nigeria, Mr. Babajide Fawole. According to it, “In recognition of the key role you have played in the realization ofWEF’s mission to improve the state of the world as a Global Growth Company, WEFhas restructured your engagement and is proud to welcome you as a Forum Member.”

“As a Forum Member, CWG Plc will continue to benefit from exceptional opportunities for learning, collaboration and impact through participation at the WEF Annual Meeting of the New Champions in China, at thematic workshops, at regional meetings, and online. “WEF will also provide you with knowledge and insights designed to help you master growth through innovation, disruption and expansion”, it furthersaid.

The WEF membership base comprisesofcorporations that arerecognized as top players within their industry and play a leading role in shaping the future of their region. They perform key roles in the actualization of the forum’s vision by serving in strategic and industry Partnership communities, which are designed to deepen their engagement with the Forum’s events, project and initiatives.

Speaking on the development, the Founder and Executive Vice Chairman, CWG Plc, Mr. Austin Okere observed that the selection is in recognition of the company’s giant strides in a challenging economic climate and her impact on the global business outlook. According to him, “Our nomination points to the fact that African firms have the potentials of having global significance by creating solutions that meets local needs using global standards.”

Recall that CWG was selected as a WEF Global Growth Company in 2014. The selection was based on the company’s business model, revenue and growth rates, executive leadership and market position.
