Nine months after it made an entry into the country, Carmudi Nigeria, fastest growing online car classified, is poised to continue its significant growth in the country, where it is changing shopping experience for car buyers as well as boosting sales for sellers and dealers.

Carmudi Nigeria, which launched its website in October 2013, has unveiled its global mobile application in the country to allow users to browse thousands of cars on the go.

Hosting over 30,000 vehicles online in Nigeria and 200,000 globally, the company said the app would give users an excellent experience of buying cars while on the move, thus allowing them the same sense of ease and comfort out and about as they would experience in front of their PCs at home.

Apart from Nigeria, where the app was introduced during Carmudi’s first dealer´s forum in Lagos at the weekend, the app is available to Android users in 20 countries across Africa, Asia, the Middle East and Latin America.

Karl-Johan Sturesson, co-founder and head of business development of Carmudi Africa, said: “We want to bring the massive choice of cars to the fingertips of our users all over Africa. This is a huge milestone for Carmudi Africa and is a natural step in our ongoing strategy of being in the frontline when it comes to business development.

“The app will allow millions of users across Africa to find their dream car in just a single tap. We already have over one million users visiting our website globally every month. Carmudi is changing the way consumers search and shop for cars. With mobile phones accounting for more than a third of the internet usage in the emerging world, Carmudi’s app will further strengthen its dominance there.”

Christian Keller, managing director at Carmudi Nigeria, said at the launching: “The trust we have gained from car sellers is overwhelming. With over 30,000 unique listings on Carmudi, all quality-approved, everybody in Nigeria should now be able to find the car they really want. Carmudi is fast becoming the first choice for vehicle buyers and sellers in Nigeria, and we are well on the way to achieving our goal of becoming the country’s largest online vehicle marketplace.”

For the convenience of customers, Carmudi has made the app available in 9 different languages, the company said, adding that the app features the same usability and filter functions as its website does.

Customers can filter searches by any means that they wish, from brand to model and year to price. Users can also share listings on various social platforms to gain opinions from friends and family if they are unsure. In addition, the Carmudi app allows for favouriting of listings so that they get instant notifications on their favourite cars, the company said.

Founded in 2013, Carmudi currently has presence in Bangladesh, Cameroun, Ghana, Indonesia, Ivory Coast, Mexico, Myanmar, Nigeria, Pakistan, Philippines, Qatar, Saudi Arabia, Senegal, United Arab Emirates, Vietnam and Sri Lanka.
