The Nigerian National Petroleum Corporation (NNPC) has again dared the House of Representatives to make good its threats.
The Hous e Committee on Finance has accused NNPC of not complying with the Fiscal Responsibility Act, which stipulates that government agencies should remit 25 percent of their gross internally generated revenue (IGR) to the nation’s treasury.
House committee chairman, Abdulmumini Jibrin, who made the accusation, also blamed NNPC for the huge deficit Nigeria has continued to suffer in recent times.
Jibrin observed that unlike some agencies, which have complied by remitting money to the nation’s treasury, NNPC has never remitted a kobo to the Federal Government.
