Telecommunications company Globacom distributed two Kia Picanto cars and various equipment to dozens of customers during a prize-giving ceremony held Monday at their Ring Road location in Ibadan, Oyo State.
The event, part of the company’s “Festival of Joy” loyalty reward program, saw quantity surveyor Adeola Olatayo Silas and media practitioner Seun Okeowo receive new vehicles. An additional 65 customers were awarded power generators, sewing machines, and grinding mills.
Oyo State’s second-in-command, Deputy Governor Chief Adebayo Lawal, praised the company at the event. “Globacom is a pride of Nigeria, nay Africa. It has continued to offer affordable and quality products and services for the benefit of Nigerians,” he said.

Globacom’s Head of Business West, Mr. Abdulazak Ande, explained that to participate in the Festival of Joy promo, new and existing subscribers should dial *611#, opt into the promo and keep recharging to meet the threshold for the various prizes. He added that new subscribers can participate immediately by purchasing a new SIM, registering it and dialling *611#.
The event drew representatives from the Nigerian Communication Commission, including Engineer Akinwale Akanbi. It also had several Nigerian entertainment personalities such as comedian Seyi Law and Nollywood actors Odunlade Adekola and Toyin Abraham Ajeyemi.
The company plans to keep giving away prizes to thank their customers across Nigeria.
