CFAO Healthcare expands collaboration with Sanofi to strengthen pharmaceutical distribution in Nigeria

In a significant development to assist in the distribution of pharmaceutical products, CFAO Healthcare has announced the expansion of its partnership with Sanofi, a global pharmaceutical leader.

The collaboration involves the exclusive distribution of the Sanofi General Medicines range in Nigeria through E.P. DIS, the CFAO Healthcare distribution platform, marking a strategic move to fortify their alliance.

With about 120-year presence in Nigeria, the CFAO Group is actively deepening its roots in the country, making Nigeria the 26th country in its ongoing partnership with Sanofi. The primary objective is to ensure the availability of products and maintain high-quality services for various local operators and patients.

This expansion follows the success of the exclusive partnership initiated in 2021 between CFAO Healthcare and Sanofi for the distribution and marketing of medicines and vaccines across 25 sub-Saharan African countries. The collaboration, covering both English- and French-speaking regions, has significantly enhanced trust between the two companies.

Jean-Marc Leccia, chief executive officer CEO & chairman of CFAO Healthcare, expressed enthusiasm about the expanded partnership, saying,

“We are delighted to expand our partnership with Sanofi by extending the exclusive distribution of general medicines in Nigeria. CFAO Healthcare is actively strengthening its presence in the Nigerian market to respond effectively to the growing healthcare needs of the population and to secure access to quality medicines.”

The Sanofi General Medicines range, comprising essential pharmaceutical products, underscores the shared commitment of CFAO Healthcare and Sanofi to provide quality therapeutic solutions while solidifying their footprint in the Nigerian market.

Cem Ozturk, Sanofi Foundation Community Head Turkey, Africa & Middle East at Sanofi, emphasized the significance of the strategic move, stating, “This represents a significant milestone for our organization and is driven by our commitment to continually improve access to our medicines and to better serve our patients and the Nigerian health system.”

Recognising the evolving landscape and challenges in the Nigerian pharmaceutical sector, CFAO Healthcare and Sanofi are joining forces to capitalise on their expertise and historical presence, aiming to optimise access to quality healthcare.

With an unwavering commitment to the community, CFAO Healthcare addresses today’s challenges, emphasising the continuity and stability of pharmaceutical distribution. This strategic alliance is dedicated to shaping the future of healthcare in Nigeria.
