In a historic move, the African Centre for Supply Chain (ACSC) and Multimix Academy have partnered with LASU International Secondary School to introduce Nigeria’s first Logistics and Supply Chain Management (SCM) Club for secondary school students.
This ground breaking initiative aims to familiarise students with the world of logistics, supply chain management, and ample opportunities.
Obiora Madu, director general of ACSC, said this program is a bold step toward building a generation of supply chain leaders who will drive Africa’s economic growth.
“People are retiring and as the aging workforce is going, we need replacement and to create awareness to introduce young people into the course to build the ecosystem of the workforce that will continue to live with the system.
“We intend to go to most secondary schools within and outside Lagos to form a club that will meet either once a month or so on Wednesdays, so we will be sending members of the center to address and update them,” Madu said.
He added that while it’s just happening in Nigeria, it has already started in other parts of the world also noting that parents can support the societies and join the center when we have events as ASCS.
“We are proud to pioneer this initiative, ensuring our children are future-ready,” Ogochukwu Ugboma, coordinator of ACSC Lagos Zone said.
This collaboration marks a significant milestone in Nigeria’s educational landscape, fostering innovation, sustainability, and career opportunities for the next generation.
