CardinalStone unveils ICT centre to empower students

Cardinalstone, an investment management firm in Nigeria marked its 15th year anniversary by unveiling an ICT centre and conducting facility rehabilitations aimed at fostering education and empowering students.

According to a statement, the company established the centre at Aje Comprehensive Senior School and conducted facility rehabilitations at Modupe Cole Memorial School in Yaba, Lagos.

“This initiative aligns seamlessly with the goals of Sustainable Development Goal four, aimed at promoting quality education and ensuring inclusive learning opportunities for all,” the statement said.

Michael Nzewi, group managing director of CardinalStone said, “As part of our 15-year anniversary celebration, we are honoured to partner with Lagos State in supporting local schools.

“Education is a cornerstone of our corporate social responsibility, and we chose to collaborate with Aje Comprehensive Senior High School and Modupe Cole Memorial School in Yaba. We provided Aje Comprehensive Senior High School with a world-class ICT lab, recognising the vital role of technology in today’s world. This marks the beginning of a lifelong relationship, and we look forward to continuing our support,” he said.

Nzewi stressed the counselling the ICT lab is not just opening a door to a roon, but a gateway to the future as the words on the wall in the room say, ‘The future of the world is in this room.’

The initiative reflects CardinalStone’s core values and unwavering dedication to making a meaningful difference in society.

With the support of the Ministry of Basic and Secondary Education, Lagos, CardinalStone established a state-of-the-art solar-powered ICT centre comprising 21 computers with access to 24/7 internet connectivity for a year, 9KVA solar inverter systems, 2 inverter air conditioners, 21 workstations, and a projector for collaborative learning at Aje Comprehensive Senior High School.

Furthermore, CardinalStone’s involvement in the rehabilitation of changing closets and some renovations at Modupe Cole Memorial School exemplifies the company’s commitment to creating safe and conducive learning environments for students.

Jamiu Alli-Balogun, commissioner for basic, and secondary education in Lagos expressed his appreciation, stating, “We extend our commendations to CardinalStone for their unwavering support of education within Lagos State. We are committed to overseeing and maintaining this valuable educational initiative.”

In response to CardinalStone’s philanthropic efforts, the principal, teachers, and students of Aje Comprehensive Senior High School expressed their heartfelt gratitude.

“We can’t put into words how grateful we are to CardinalStone for their generous contribution to our school. The ICT lab will transform the way our students learn and prepare them for the real world,” said Sanni Omotayo Layemo, the principal of Aje Comprehensive Senior High School.
